It's almost game day!! Tomorrow, 3/6/26, our Lady Longhorns will be traveling up to Fleming to take on the Wildcats for the first round of regionals. The bus will leave Lone Star at 3:45 and tip off will be at 5:00 p.m. So come on up and support your Lady Longhorns!! I have attached all game day information that was sent out by Fleming. Reminder: Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for tomorrow, March 5th from 4:00- 7:00. K-4th will have scheduled times with your students teachers. 5th-12th grade will be a come as you can during that time period. Mrs. Manuello will need to be done by 6:30 as she has a senior parent meeting for senior trip at 6:30.

Good evening, Lonestar! Tomorrow, 2/28/26, is another day of HS basketball. Our HS teams will travel up to Sterling once again. The boys will play at 3:30 p.m. against Weldon Valley at Sterling High School in Tiger Den. Then the girls will play at 5:00 p.m. against Otis at Sterling High School in Tiger Den. The boys bus will leave Lonestar at 1:15 p.m. and the girls van will leave Lonestar at 2:45 p.m.

Good morning, Lone Star. We have a full day of basketball today! Our HS boys will travel to Sterling to take on the High Plains Patriots. The boys game will start at 12:30p.m. at NJC arena. Then the girls will travel up to Sterling and take on the High Plains Lady Patriots at 2:00 p.m. at Wally Post gym at Sterling High School.
A quick reminder, NJC will accept cash, card, CHSAA passes, or CHSCA passes. Sterling High School is CASH only!!!, CHSAA passes, or CHSCA passes.

Good morning, with our area being at a very high risk of fire danger I wanted to reiterate the districts evacuation plans and protocols if need be. With every situation, we will work to put common sense on the forefront. That being said, if the school is being forced into a mandatory evacuation All students will be placed on busses and moved to a safer relocation site Before dismissal a head count will be done by all teachers to make sure nobody gets left behind. It’s kind of like our nation’s “No Child Left Behind” initiative, but with more common sense. Your students are our number one concern! After the evacuation, students will be taken by bus to a safe location away from the dangerous situation. This location is where parents will be able to come pick up their kids. The exact location of our relocation site will be announced to all parents on the day of an incident. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the district’s standard response protocol for evacuation please feel free to reach out to Mr. Bowers at the school.

The HS girls will travel to Sterling tomorrow to take on the Lady Mustangs. Their game will start at 2:00p.m. at NJC Arena. The bus will leave Lone Star at 11:45 a.m.

The Lone Star Boys will play Briggsdale at 11am Monday at NJC in the opening round of the YWKC/NCL Tourney. The bus leaves at 9:30am from Lone Star. Both the Boys' Pool Play bracket and Girls' Championship brackets are attached.

The final home game of the season for the Longhorn Basketball teams will be tomorrow, February 21st, starting at 2:00. It is Parent's night and Senior recognition.
The Varsity Girls will start off the evening followed by the Varsity Boys. Parent and Senior recognition will happen between Varsity games. Our Little Longhorns basketball team will play at half time of the Boys' game. We hope to see you all out supporting our kids and Goooo Longhorns!!

It's almost time for FFA Week! Come celebrate with us starting on February 24th. Please view the attached flyer for all the details, but here are some community highlights: 1. Pancake breakfast on Tuesday morning 2. 50th Anniversary celebration on Tuesday morning 3. Community members are invited to drive their favorite tractor to school on Thursday. Park in the corn stalks north of the school! 4. On Friday, parents can join us for the FFA Assembly starting at 9am. Come watch our elementary "livestock show" and watch our freshmen become Greenhands (literally)!
This Friday we will be having our adulting day. The main focus for high school will be budgeting and resumes! We will have 3 employers coming into to talk with the students about buying a car, renting,/buying a house, and all things insurance.
Also, the 7th-9th graders will be going to Lockeheed Martin Aerospace in Denver. The bus will leave the school at 7:00 am and will be making one stop in Yuma. On the way back the bus will be making one stop in Otis. All other students will need to be picked up at the school around 4:30. Your students can text you when we are close for pick up. Please contact the front office if your student is planning to be picked up in Yuma so we can plan accordingly no later than Thursday. Lunch will be provided.
